What does the Ascento Research base package cost?
The Ascento Robot itself starts @ 75 000€ – Please feel free to contact us at sales[at]mybotshop.de to get a custom quote.
Differences between Ascento Guard & Ascento Research
Both products are based on the same hardware platform / robot, but while you are purchasing & modifying the Ascento Research (www.ascento-research.com) is the key value of Ascento Guard (www.ascento.ai) the service which is provided by the robot & Ascento Team. Therefore Ascento Guard is a RaaS (Robot as a Service) model, while you are paying for a security service and not purchasing the robot.
What is included in the base package?
The base package includes the robot itself + Docking Station for autonomous charging + NVIDIA NX SOM (with root access for your development) + LIVOX Mid 360 LiDAR + Intel RealSense Camera (D435f) + Fixposition V-RTK Outdoor Navigation System for creating waypoint navigation / autonomous driving
Training: What developer training and support resources do you offer with Ascento?
We can offer full ROS1 & ROS2 developer Trainings based on the Ascento Research robot. These trainings usually take 2-5 days and programming skills in Python & C are needed in advance when attending. The topics can be chosen based on your requirements and can be seen on our training websites. ROS1: https://docs.mybotshop.de/projects/training_ros1/html/index.html | ROS2: https://docs.mybotshop.de/projects/training_ros2/html/index.html
Documentation & Support: Which kind of Support & Documentation do you provide?
We are still setting up our Ascento Research docs at https://docs.mybotshop.de/projects/robot_ascento/html/index.html where the usage of the robot, API & ROS related topics will be explained. Once done (by end of Nov.) you could expect the docs to be at the same stage, like all of our other docs at www.docs.mybotshop.de Moreover support is always free of charge and we prefer to support our customers over our community www.forum.mybotshop.de because in that case several of my colleagues can work simultaneously on a solution and everything is documented for future customers or colleagues of you.
Can the robot be modified? If yes, do I need to make a decision now or later on?
The robot is a Research platform and can be modified on your needs – You need an IR Camera? No problem! You would like to add your own sensor / device? No Problem! Either you can hire us, to integrate your components or you can do it on your own. For this reason every Ascento Research is having a separate NVIDIA ORIN NX SOM integrated which is just for your development! Exchange of the NVIDIA or increasing the computing power is of course also possible! Just the payload is the limiting factor, because after a specific payload, the robot is not able to stand up on its own after falling.
How to power external devices?
The robot is equipped with a 50.4V (12S5P), 17.5Ah (882Wh) battery which is having an unregulated VBAT & 24V Output on the top of the Ascento robot for customer usage.
